About Khalis Rashaad
A Lifelong Journey in Faith and Service
At 19, I embraced Islam with a deep desire to understand and live the faith with sincerity. What began as personal transformation gradually unfolded into a lifelong path of learning, service, and teaching. Over the past three decades, I’ve been blessed to study with scholars in North America, Syria, Saudi Arabia, North Africa, and West Africa, grounding myself in the classical Islamic disciplines of law, prophetic tradition, theology, and spirituality. Along the way, I was entrusted by my teachers with formal permissions to teach in these disciplines—traditional licenses (ijāzāt) granted through direct study and transmission. These aren’t just credentials, but responsibilities—meant to preserve the integrity of the tradition and serve others with it.
Rather than titles or accolades, it is the companionship of scholars, the rigor of study, and the trials of lived experience that have shaped me most. Along the way, I’ve been entrusted with the responsibility to teach, guide, and support others on their path.
Faith in Practice
My work centers on helping Muslims connect sacred knowledge to the complexity of modern life. I strive to teach in a way that’s rooted in the Qur’an and our tradition, while remaining attentive to the needs, struggles, and aspirations of our time. I believe faith must be lived—not as a set of abstractions, but as a source of clarity, mercy, and strength.
My focus includes Qur’anic exegesis (tafsīr), theology in context, and the practical integration of spirituality, ethics, and thought—particularly within an American framework. I try to help others locate themselves in the Divine story, in a way that brings coherence to both the inner life and public witness.
Bridging the Sacred and the Practical
Alongside my Islamic studies, I also hold a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) and work as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), running a boutique global accounting and advisory firm. This allows me to serve not only as a teacher and guide, but also as someone engaged in the practical realities of life. My work spans the spiritual and the material, aiming always to be of benefit.
Though my roots are firmly in the Islamic tradition, I believe in working with people of all backgrounds toward what is just, good, and dignified for all.
